Teaching Manners for Kids: Cultivating the Perfect Gentleman and Lady

Well-behaved children are truly a joy to interact with! They add youthful energy and creativity to social functions and can put smiles on the faces of friends and family. On the other hand, misbehaved children can ruin a party or evening out for all in attendance. In this post, I’ll delve into some of the specifics regarding what makes a perfect gentleman and lady. We’ll also look at how training can help develop manners for kids that will benefit you and them for a lifetime.

The Perfect Lady will Have these Characteristics:

Teaching Manners for Kids: Cultivating the Perfect Gentleman and Lady

  • She dresses with intention.
  • She has good manners and treats people the way they would want to be treated.
  • She knows church etiquette and respects others and God by following the appropriate protocol.
  • She knows how to respect her elders and how to acknowledge the intrinsic worth of all she meets.
  • She knows how to listen and project empathy.
  • She knows how to practice common courtesy, which will build trust with others, reduce conflict and promote a positive social atmosphere around her where all feel trusted and respected.
  • She knows how to treat her family members with love, dignity and respect.
  • She has a servant’s heart.
  • She is well groomed and has good personal hygiene at all times.
  • She knows the perfect handshake.
  • She knows how to care for others.

  • She knows how to have a proper cup of tea.
  • She always writes Thank You notes.
  • She is always polite.
  • She is aware of her image. This includes hair and nails as well as self-projection and a positive body image.
  • She can take orders from others as needed.
  • She is slow to point out the faults in others and quick to give praise.
  • She never belittles her family members, either publicly or privately.
  • She is always on time.
  • She can start and end a conversation with anyone.

How to be the Perfect Gentleman:

  • He stands when a lady enters the room.
  • He never talks poorly about his family and praises his parents and grandparents, both publicly and privately.
  • He is never lazy.
  • He always maintains a sense of situational awareness.
  • He is aware of his image and how others may view him.
  • He cares about his neighbor.
  • He maintains eye contact at all times.
  • He never brags about himself or discusses his personal wealth, as discussing one’s wealth is unbecoming and makes others feel small. Never discuss finances.
  • He places the needs of others before his own needs.
  • He is a giver and not a calculator of what others owe him.
  • He always walks with the lady on the inside of the street.
  • He finds good things to say about others.
  • He is never afraid to take charge and take the leadership role.
  • He is quick to say “I am sorry.”
  • He is quick to forgive.
  • He is sensitive to the needs of others.
  • He is always on time.
  • He uses clean language.
  • He is honest.
  • He doesn’t “abandon ship” in relationships.
  • He holds the door for others.
  • He contributes to his community.

Above all, a perfect gentleman loves the Lord God with all of his heart and soul. This is the only way to maintain an awareness of others’ needs and sincerely love others by putting their needs above one’s own.
