Foods to Eat while Traveling

On the road or in the air again, the key to health while traveling to plan ahead.  PPP, PREPARE, PACK, AND PLAN ahead. Children and Family members should all contribute to the food planning of travel.  Think and plan ahead of time. Be mindful of messy foods that have an odor.  Foods like French Fries or sushi should never be eaten on an airplane.  Nuts, small sandwiches, and food boxes with hummus, figs, or prunes are wonderful healthy snacks.  An extra pop tart is always good to have on hand for the picky eaters in your family.  Below I have listed Snack for Thought in planning your next trip.  Above all, be mindful of those around you while traveling.  Be thoughtful when traveling, asking those around you if they mind if you eat or snack.

Foods to Eat while Traveling
1. PBJ
2. Protein or granola bars
3. Nuts- be mindful of peanuts
4. Small hamburgers or any kind of small sandwiches.
5. Healthy chips
6. Bananas, apples, or any kind of fruit that is not messy
7. Do not drink soda while traveling.  Soda contains too much salt which causes dehydration.
8. Boxed snacks like hummus
9. Grains. Small boxes of cereal, bread, or muffins
10. Almonds and raisins
11. Roasted Chickpeas
12. Chopped cauliflower
13. Single Cheese sticks
14. Applesauce
15.  Pita Bread
16. Hard Boiled eggs
17. Small wraps are always good to order in the airport and are easy to eat on the airplane.
18. Soft Pretzels
19. Homemade veggies that are roasted
20.  Dried Fruits.
21. Prunes and Dates
22. Graham Crackers
Moms, I always keep a pop tart on hand.  They are easy, and your picky eaters will enjoy them.
