It’s a dream come true to be able to teach etiquette to students of all ages, including corporations! What a joy and pleasure it has been to serve all who have chosen me as your Dallas Business Etiquette Consultant this year.
This year, I was blessed to study with consultants around the world through The British School of Protocol. Through my experiences, I’ve learned that all people are essentially the same. Everyone wants respect, honor, and, above all, to be recognized. I’ve worked hard to emphasize “connections” to my students this year. Situational awareness for the needs of others plays a vital part in correctly deploying social graces. I am and will continue to dedicate my time and talents to teaching everyone how to connect with all others.
The highlight of my year was to be able to appear on FOX 4 News as an expert on Afternoon Tea. Afternoon tea is one of my favorite ways to teach others to connect (whether in business or other social situations). Another highlight of the year was teaching at The Hockaday School’s summer camp, where I was able to teach English to students from China. What a joy! Through this experience, I also sharpened my own non-verbal body language skills.
Another big highlight of the year would be my visit to Mount Vernon with my granddaughter, Lila Hoffer. She was an amazing assistant as we spent the day talking and learning about the history of our nation’s First President. What an honor it has been to be featured in the Mount Vernon Magazine. As an etiquette expert, I use George Washington’s Rules of Civility with my students, from children to business professionals.
A special thanks to my dear husband, who has listened, advised and encouraged me beyond measure. Another thanks to my mom, who is the heart and soul of what I teach. Her life of manners, fellowship and of being the perfect hostess has been a huge blessing to me. The greatest joy of teaching has been the opportunity to teach my grandchildren, William, Quince, Maria, Lila and Lincoln.
From my heart, I wish you all a Merry Christmas! On this Christmas, seek real joy and peace. This can only come from deep surrender which will bring peace that enables joy to flow from your spirit into the lives of others. Remember, this season is a celebration of Jesus, God’s only Son. He is the reason for the season.
